Caribbean - 2019

Caribbean - Mid Winter Break is a great way to break the winter and cold weather up (we have had a pretty mild weather this year, so a break is not as needed as normal - it was 50 and sunny the day we returned), with temps in the 80's

Start with Flights on Alaska Airlines: Boise-Seattle-Fort Lauderdale: Uber-Lauderdale by the Sea:

Lauderdale by the Sea:  We like to break the flights up by staying a day or so in route - in this case a couple of nights in a really nice beach town - Lauderdale by the Sea.

Then on to Guadeloupe Island - a French Island that is more of a French/European vacation destination then an US destination.  Why Guadeloupe?  Beaches - Yes, but really I hate to admit it is because of a TV show we watch - Death in Paradise - that is a British show filmed on a French island (they call the island St Marie, but that is fictional island) - What a great background to film a show.

So after enjoying the show and the scenes - off to the island we go.

A couple of days on Guadeloupe a French Island and then take a cruise on an Italian Cruise line (Costa Cruises), very little English spoken on either one (be we knew that and are fine with it), time to practice our foreign language skills (which are mostly non-existent, but we try)

Next: Antigua (Jan 15)

And Snorkeling

Next: St Vincent & Grenadine (Jan 16)

Next: Martinique (Jan 17 )

Next Back to Guadeloupe (Jan 18-24)

Back home and back to work - Done practicing retirement - for now.
